Our History

Pooh County Day nursery was opened in November 1977. At that time, our licensed capacity was 47 children (Pre-School-School-age). In 1980, Pooh County was then increased to54 children. In 1989, there were two additional rooms added to the west portion of our building. The increased space allowed us to address the expanding  need for Infant-Toddler Day Care in our community. In 1990, our licensed capacity increased to 72 children. During the summer of 1992, more space was added to Pooh-County to create a staff lounge, lobby and new office space. In 1996, addtional space was added to create a cafeteria, office and multi-purpose room, which is now a pre-school classroom. Currently, our licensed capacity  is 123.

Pooh County Day Nursery School's staff numbers 21. Included  in that number are the Director, Assistant Director, Dietitian, Direct Teaching Staff, Teacher's Aides, Van Driver, Student Aides and Foster Grandparents.
